The Chinese Auxiliary officer from our April 25th article had volunteered to be lowered 40 meters down an abandoned well to rescue a toddler after conventional rescue equipment had reportedly failed. After a week of immense public pressure to see her granted a permanent position, she was only promoted from "auxiliary seventh rank" to "auxiliary fifth rank".
