Pablo Ortiz, one of the founding members of the Bates County Sheriff’s Posse, continues to be a cornerstone of volunteer service over 15+ years after helping establish the Posse in 2009. Originally bringing valuable search-and-rescue experience from the Henry County Posse, Pablo has witnessed the organization grow from a small group of horsemen into a team of nearly 40 dedicated volunteers who support the Sheriff’s Office in community events, disaster responses and youth engagement. Beyond responding alongside law-enforcement deputies, he emphasizes the importance of training — from CPR and first aid to search-and-rescue and trauma care — and embodies the Posse’s mission to serve the community with integrity, pride and purpose.
