After nearly two decades behind bars, convicted killer Nicola Puddicombe, found guilty in the gruesome 2006 axe murder of her boyfriend and Go Transit Special Constable, Dennis Hoy, is once again before a jury, this time in a rare “faint hope” hearing seeking early parole eligibility.
During the hearing, her defense argued she has “grown, evolved and matured,” pointing to psychological assessments that classify her as low-risk for future violent behavior.
Prosecutors counter that she only admitted to involvement weeks before the hearing, a “tardy admission,” they say, maintaining her history of violence and the heinous nature of the crime.
