On April 24, the day of Saint George, the patron saint of the police, the Budapest Civil Guard Association received a prestigious recognition: they were awarded the Memorial Flag for the Capital.
This annual award, presented on the occasion of Saint George’s Day, is given to a legal entity or an organization without legal personality that has made an outstanding contribution to maintaining and improving public safety and order in Budapest. At the ceremony held at City Hall, Mayor Gergely Karácsony presented the award to the Budapest Civil Guard Association. The memorial flag was received by Pál Kardos, President of the Association, accompanied by Dr. György Hegedűs, Vice President.
