The city of Clinton is heartbroken to announce the passing of retired Lt. Detective and Reserve Officer Andrew Pitts, who dedicated more than four decades—42 years—to service with the Clinton Police Department. Throughout his esteemed career, Pitts served in a variety of roles including court bailiff, lieutenant detective and reserve officer, earning the respect and gratitude of both colleagues and community members alike. He passed away peacefully on November 7, surrounded by family, and is survived by his three sons, Drew, Dylan and Dawson. The department has asked the community to join in keeping his family, friends and fellow officers in their thoughts and prayers as they honor his enduring legacy of service.
