In the fall of 2022, Reserve Officer Jake Kellner recognized the urgent need for a more effective solution to the challenges faced by the Columbiana Police Department. At the time the department had been compelled to repurpose an aging camper to serve as a makeshift command center, which was far from ideal for managing critical incidents or large public gatherings.
The need of an updated mobile facility became strikingly clear following the 2023 East Palestine train derailment incident. This unfortunate event highlighted the critical need for efficient and effective emergency response capabilities, showcasing the advantages that a modern mobile command center could provide in managing large-scale emergencies and ensuring public safety. The ability to coordinate resources, communicate effectively with various agencies, and support on-the-ground operations became paramount in the wake of such a disaster.
The Mobile Concepts trailer includes four work stations, a communications section and a conference room.
