Haileyville, Okla. reserve police officer among 3 killed in 2 separate incidents at a drag racing event.

Two tragic incidents linked to the annual “H‑Town Throwdown” drag-racing event in Hartshorne, Oklahoma, have resulted in the deaths of a volunteer and two first responders: on October 31, 42-year-old volunteer Justin Faulkner—husband of the town’s mayor—was electrocuted while setting up lighting, and on November 1, Chief Jim McCoy of the Alderson Fire Department and Reserve Officer Clint Lawrence of the Haileyville Police Department were killed after a drag-racing vehicle veered off course during the event.

They were honored by a multi-agency procession spanning 90 miles, reflecting the profound impact of their loss across the local emergency-services community.
