Jacksonville Sheriff’s Auxiliary Officer shot at while rendering aid after liquor store gunfight.

An Auxiliary Officer from the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office narrowly escaped injury while rendering aid after a violent double shooting at a liquor store on Atlantic Boulevard. The incident started with an argument between a customer and a store clerk, which escalated into gunfire. The suspect shot the clerk and fled the scene. In response, the store owner fired back, injuring the suspect, who managed to return home before collapsing.

A nearby auxiliary officer, hearing the disturbance, rushed to aid the injured suspect along with a bystander. However, they both came under fire from someone inside the suspect's home. The shooter of this second incident was arrested, while the auxiliary officer and the bystander were unharmed. The original clerk and the suspect are hospitalized in stable condition.
