Louisiana Chiefs of Police Association, and Sheriff's Association clash over proposal to establish auxiliary status, separate from reserve status, with auxiliary training reduced to 100 to 120 hours.

The bill is opposed by the Louisiana Chiefs of Police Association, citing the low training requirement, and the already existing reserve officer status. The bill was presented by the Louisiana Sheriff's Association to support law enforcement, especially in rural areas.
