Miami Beach PD Mourns Reserve Officer Kenneth Mastellone — Killed in Tragic I-75 Crash

The Miami Beach Police Department announced the passing of Reserve Police Officer Kenneth “Ken” Mastellone, a longtime member of the department whose service continued even after retirement from full-time duty. Mastellone, 70, was killed in a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 75 near Weston, Florida, when he was struck by a pickup truck and subsequently run over while riding his motorcycle on January 27, 2026. A respected officer who served the Miami Beach community with dedication and integrity, Mastellone remained active in law-enforcement circles and was remembered fondly by colleagues for his commitment to public safety, mentoring younger officers and fostering community partnerships. The tragic loss has drawn expressions of grief from law enforcement agencies and residents alike, honoring a life defined by service both on and off duty.
