Mother claims her son was an NYPD auxiliary who died from illness after serving in the 9/11 recovery zone, and while recognized by The NYC Council, his name is still absent from 9/11 victim records.

Heather Williams claims her son, Taurean E. Williams-Wells, joined the NYPD auxiliary out of the 120th precinct at just 17 years old, and responded to the 9/11 terrorist site to assist with recovery efforts. His Auxiliary membership, and service during 9/11 were all unknown to his family until after his death from kidney failure and respiratory issues, when among his personal effects, certificates of recognition from both the NYPD and former state Sen. Vincent Gentile, for his presence at Ground Zero were located.

The New York City council Even recognized his sacrifice through a resolution renaming a street in his honor, but his name still does not appear an official 9/11 records due to the fact that APO Williams-Wells has no exposure number on file, and his death was not officially listed as related to the attacks.
