Max Arnett, an Ohio native and former New Philadelphia Police Department Reserve Officer, was killed in combat in Ukraine on August 23, 2025. Arnett had served his community as a reserve law enforcement officer before traveling overseas earlier this year to volunteer with Ukraine’s 3rd Assault Brigade, where he led a squad in active operations. His death has prompted an outpouring of condolences from the Kent Police Department where he also had served as a full-time officer. The department praised his dedication to service both at home and abroad.
