The department officially recognized the oversight with a press release in 2022, and the California Reserve Peace Officers Association posthumously awarded Officer Clark the CRPOA Medal of Valor for his courageous actions in 2024. During 2025's National Police Week, Officer Clark's line of duty death was officially recognized at the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial.
