Retired Charlotte police officer J.C. Stanton recalls surviving a vicious attack while on duty in 1973. Stanton served full-time for 30 years followed by another 13 years as a reserve officer.

Stanton recently donated a large collection of items from his time as a police officer, his service in Vietnam, and his father's service in WWI to The Powles-Staton military museum.
