Singaporean actor Gary Lee Wei, known for his roles in television series such as Crimewatch and Triple Nine, has retired after two decades of service as a volunteer police officer with the Singapore Police Force’s Volunteer Special Constabulary (VSC). During his time in the VSC, Lee balanced his entertainment career with demanding weekend and night duty operations, including responding to serious incidents like a suspected parang attack outside Orchard Towers and a robbery chase through central Singapore. He announced his retirement on social media, explaining that his recent marriage and the birth of his son made it difficult to continue committing the long hours required for VSC duties. Lee said his experience as a volunteer officer gave him rare frontline insight and underscored the meaningful impact volunteers can have within their communities.
