A South Yorkshire Police Special Sergeant has been honored with a special award recognizing outstanding professionalism, leadership, and dedication to volunteer policing after consistently going above and beyond in service to the community. Over the last 12 months he has completed over 450 hours across 70 duties supporting a wide range of events while still providing support to response and neighborhood policing. The award highlighted the sergeant’s exceptional commitment to frontline policing, mentorship of fellow Special Constables, and willingness to volunteer significant hours supporting operational deployments and community safety initiatives. Colleagues praised the Special Sergeant for setting a high standard within the Special Constabulary through professionalism, reliability, and a strong commitment to public service — demonstrating how volunteer officers continue to make a meaningful impact alongside full-time police personnel.
