A leader in both academia and volunteer policing, Dr. Ross Wolf — a current board member and past president of the Volunteer Law Enforcement Officer Alliance (VLEOA) — is being recognized for his decades-long impact on the criminal justice field.
Dr. Wolf has dedicated more than 34 years to volunteer service with the Orange County Sheriff's Office (OCSO) while simultaneously shaping the next generation of law enforcement professionals as a professor and administrator at The University of Central Florida where he is currently serving as interim dean of the UCF College of Community Innovation and Education, professor of criminal justice and associate provost of UCF Downtown. His contributions to volunteer policing research, reserve deputy leadership, and criminal justice education have influenced both national and international policy and helped strengthen agencies worldwide.
As he transitions from active reserve service, Dr. Wolf’s legacy continues through his work in education, research, and his ongoing leadership within the VLEOA community.
Next month, in addition to OCSO honoring Dr. Wolf as the 2025 Reserve Deputy of the Year, he will also be awarded a Distinguished Service Medal.
