This webinar will bring together an international panel of leaders from reserve and volunteer police programs to share insights on effectively leading volunteers and reserves within law enforcement organizations. The discussion will examine leadership at both the strategic and operational levels, with a focus on how volunteer leaders, sworn officers, and professional staff work collaboratively to support organizational goals.
The session will be moderated by Iain Britton, Founder and Director of the Global Foundation for Community Safety and Volunteering (UK), who brings extensive international experience in volunteer engagement and public safety leadership.
Panel speakers include:
Ben Haiman, President of the Volunteer Law Enforcement Officer Alliance, who will offer an international perspective on advocacy and support for volunteer officers.
Ross Wolf, Professor and retired Reserve Chief Deputy, sharing insights from both international academic scholarship and senior operational leadership .
Joe Klima, Assistant Police Chief of Reserves, focusing on the integration of reserve officers within full‑service policing environments.
David Pedrick-Friend, Chief Officer, Special Constabulary, providing an international perspective on volunteer policing models and leadership development.
In addition to exploring coordination and collaboration across roles, the webinar will give particular attention to how law enforcement organizations can support, develop, and sustain those serving in volunteer leadership positions.
