Barbados Police Service welcomes 28 additional Special Constables

The Barbados Police Service has welcomed 28 newly trained Special Constables following an intensive eight-week program, as part of a broader effort to address staffing shortages and strengthen community policing.
Special Constables, who assist regular officers with patrols, event security, and crime prevention, can transition to full-time roles after three years of service. The government has also authorized the recruitment of 60 additional Special Constables to further bolster the force, highlighting its commitment to enhancing public safety across the island.
