The contributions of volunteer law enforcement officers were recently highlighted as Retired NYPD Chief Joseph Fox recognized the dedication of Auxiliary Police Officers Michael Hennessy and Mahesh Ramnath of the New York City Auxiliary Police Department alongside Police Officer Kyle Beck of the NYPD's 106th Precinct, who coordinates that precincts APO Program. The recognition shines a spotlight on the often-overlooked work performed by Auxiliary Police officers, who volunteer their time to support public safety, crime prevention, community engagement, and patrol operations throughout New York City. The Chief's recognition serves as a reminder that Auxiliary Police officers remain an important part of the NYPD family, contributing thousands of volunteer hours each year while strengthening the relationship between law enforcement and the communities they serve.
