Sixteen years.

Countless lives touched.

One extraordinary commitment to volunteer policing.

Singapore’s Ministry of Home Affairs is spotlighting DSP Kris Lee, Head of the Singapore Police Force’s Volunteer Special Constabulary Recruitment, whose 16 years of volunteer service have made a lasting impact on both the Force and the community. Her dedication was also recognized at this year’s Minister for Home Affairs’ National Day Observance Ceremony, highlighting the contribution of individuals who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to Singapore’s Home Team.

Kris Lee’s story is particularly significant because her service represents far more than simply volunteering her time, it reflects a sustained commitment to developing and strengthening Singapore’s Volunteer Special Constabulary (VSC). The VSC is an established component of Singapore’s volunteer-policing model, with volunteers serving alongside the Singapore Police Force and contributing to the safety and security of the community.

After 16 years of volunteer service, DSP Kris Lee now plays a leadership role in helping recruit and develop the next generation of volunteer police officers. Her journey illustrates the extraordinary possibilities that can emerge when volunteer officers are given opportunities to grow, lead, and shape the future of volunteer policing. Her story demonstrates that volunteer service isn't simply about the hours an individual gives, it is about the lives she touches, the communities she strengthens, and the future volunteers she helps inspire.
