The Prairie County Sheriff’s Office is strengthening its volunteer law-enforcement presence by bringing back law enforcement veteran Tim Therrien, who is coming out of retirement for a second time, to help expand and enhance its Reserve Deputy program. The move is aimed at growing the ranks of reserve deputies who provide essential support to full-time deputies through patrol assistance, community engagement, and operational backup, boosting the agency’s capacity to serve rural residents effectively.
The decision underscores the department’s commitment to investing in volunteer officers and tapping proven leadership to build a more capable, responsive reserve force that bolsters public safety across the county.
