The VLEOA was well represented at the 2026 Small and Rural Law Enforcement Executives’ Association (SRLEEA) National Conference and Training Summit in Orlando, with a few members of the VLEOA Board of Directors attending the annual gathering of law enforcement leaders. Held July 26–28 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Orlando at SeaWorld, the conference brought together law enforcement executives and public safety professionals from across the country for training, networking, and discussion of the challenges facing today's agencies.
VLEOA leadership's participation underscores the Alliance's growing engagement with police chiefs, sheriffs, command staff, and other public safety leaders, and provides an opportunity to ensure that volunteer, reserve, and auxiliary law enforcement remain part of the national conversation about the future of policing. The conference program itself included multiple sessions focused specifically on volunteer policing, including presentations on leveraging volunteers to impact communities, research into volunteer policing, and adapting to the next generation of volunteer policing.
For VLEOA, having members of its Board of Directors present at a national gathering of law enforcement executives represents more than simple attendance, it reflects the Alliance's commitment to building partnerships, sharing best practices, and bringing the voice of volunteer law enforcement into conversations shaping the profession.
