This year's 25th Annual Cops Cycling for Survivors "Ride to Remember" is paying special tribute to Reserve Deputy Sheriff John C. Stahl III of the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, whose service and sacrifice continue to inspire Indiana's law enforcement community.
Over the course of 13 days, officers, retirees, survivors, and supporters will cycle nearly 1,000 miles across Indiana to honor the memory of fallen officers while providing encouragement and support to their surviving families. Reserve Deputy Stahl, whose line-of-duty death was formally recognized in 2025, is one of two officers being honored throughout the 2026 ride, with his portrait displayed on the organization's traveling memorial support vehicle and his story shared at communities along the route.
Among this year's participants is Vincennes Police Officer Evan McGuire, whose involvement reflects the enduring commitment of Indiana law enforcement to ensuring that the service and sacrifice of officers like Reserve Deputy Stahl are never forgotten. The annual ride stands as a powerful reminder that reserve deputies serve with the same dedication and courage as their full-time counterparts, leaving a legacy that continues
