After 15 years of dedicated service, Calderdale's longest serving volunteer police officer has been given a fond farewell, marking the end of a career spent supporting frontline policing and community safety efforts across West Yorkshire. Sergeant Pete Chapman, described by colleagues as a committed and reliable presence, served as part of the volunteer policing structure within West Yorkshire Police, contributing thousands of hours in support of patrols, public reassurance, and operational deployments. Throughout his tenure, Sergeant Chapman played an important role in supplementing full-time officers, reflecting the enduring value of volunteer policing in supporting neighborhood teams and wider public safety objectives. His departure was marked with appreciation from colleagues who acknowledged both the professionalism and long term commitment demonstrated over more than a decade of service.
