LASD Recruiting the Next Generation of Reserve Deputy Sheriffs

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department (LASD) is reminding community-minded individuals that they don't have to leave their careers behind to serve in law enforcement. Through its Reserve Deputy Sheriff Program, LASD is recruiting dedicated men and women who want to make a meaningful impact while serving on a part-time, volunteer basis alongside one of the nation's largest sheriff's departments.

In a recent post, the Department highlighted their upcoming virtual workshop as part of its "Part-Time Deputies, Full-Time Heroes," recruitment campaign. Reserve Deputies complete the same rigorous hiring standards as full-time deputies and train to work alongside career personnel, bringing valuable professional experience and community perspectives to the department. Prospective applicants are encouraged to attend the virtual recruitment workshops to learn more about the Reserve Academy, training requirements, and the many opportunities available to serve their communities through volunteer law enforcement.

The campaign serves as another reminder that some of law enforcement's most dedicated professionals are those who choose to wear the badge while balancing careers, families, and other commitments in service to the public.
