Members of the Ramona Volunteer Sheriff's Patrol are helping strengthen community preparedness by distributing emergency "Go Bags" to residents throughout the Ramona area.
The initiative is designed to encourage individuals and families to be ready for wildfires, natural disasters, and other emergencies by ensuring they have essential supplies readily available if evacuation becomes necessary. The effort highlights the diverse ways volunteer law enforcement personnel contribute beyond traditional patrol functions, serving as trusted partners in emergency preparedness, public education, and community resilience.
As trained volunteers with the San Diego County Sheriff's Office, Volunteer Sheriff's Patrol members regularly support crime prevention programs, vacation security checks, traffic control, welfare checks, and emergency response efforts. Their latest outreach initiative demonstrates how volunteer law enforcement programs continue to enhance public safety by building stronger, more prepared communities before disasters occur.
