The law enforcement community is mourning the loss of Clifford Joseph Boisa, a retired Reserve Deputy with the Sutter County Sheriff's Office, who died in the tragic boating accident on San Francisco Bay near Alcatraz Island.
Boisa, 79, dedicated 14 years of volunteer service to the Sheriff's Office, serving as a Reserve Deputy from 1987 to 2001. Following confirmation of his passing, the Sutter County Sheriff's Office honored his legacy, stating that his "years of dedicated service and commitment to public safety will not be forgotten." Boisa lost his life while aboard the Volare during what had been intended as a family memorial gathering to scatter the ashes of a loved one. His death is a poignant reminder that the men and women who volunteer in law enforcement leave lasting legacies that extend well beyond their years of active service.
