The Tell City Police Department is strengthening its commitment to community policing with the addition of three new Reserve Police Officers to its ranks. During a recent swearing-in ceremony, Stacia Landstrom, Ryan Harding, and Kenny Sherman took the oath of office after successfully completing Indiana's Pre-Basic Law Enforcement Academy, marking the beginning of their field training with the department. As volunteer, sworn law enforcement officers, Indiana Reserve Officers complete state-mandated training and donate their time to assist with patrol operations, traffic enforcement, community events, and other public safety initiatives. Their service allows the Tell City Police Department to expand its operational capabilities while fostering stronger relationships with the community. The appointment of these new Reserve Officers reflects the continued importance of volunteer law enforcement programs in supporting full-time agencies and demonstrates how dedicated citizens continue to answer the call to serve their communities.
