Two New Reserve Officers Strengthen Nappanee’s Police Department

The City of Nappanee, Indiana, has welcomed two new Reserve Police Officers, expanding a police reserve program that plays an important role in supporting the department’s full-time personnel. Mayor Jenkins formally swore in the two new officers, marking the beginning of their service to the Nappanee community and adding another layer of support to the department’s patrol operations.

Nappanee Police Department’s Patrol Division operates around the clock and is comprised of both full-time and reserve officers. Reserve officers work alongside their full-time counterparts as part of the department’s broader commitment to community-based policing, providing additional personnel and availability while helping maintain a visible law-enforcement presence throughout the city.

The addition of two new reserve officers is another reminder of the important role volunteer and reserve personnel can play in strengthening local law enforcement. Across Indiana and the nation, reserve officers provide departments with dedicated professionals who are willing to give their time and serve their communities while working alongside career officers. Nappanee’s continued use of a reserve component demonstrates how these officers can become an important part of a department’s overall public-safety mission.
