Former reserve deputy and decorated combat veteran successfully petitions state representative to change some controversial language in proposed Indiana LEO legislation.

Former Vigo County Sheriff's Reserve Deputy Elias Donker spoke to State Rep. Steve Bartels about the controversial and restrictive nature of Indiana House Bill 1186. Donker, a current officer with the Town of West Terre Haute and Indiana Sheriff's Association Deputy of the Year in 2020 for valor, convinced representatives to amend some of the controversial parts of the bill.
